Short Biography

Mirko Himmel is scientist at the Research Group for Biological Arms Control. He studied Biochemistry at the University of Potsdam and did his Ph.D. in molecular cell biology. Mirko worked for several years at university medical hospitals and gained working experience in the fields of protein biochemistry, cell culture techniques, live cell microscopy, and medical microbiology. He joined the Hamburg Research Group in April 2014 working on a research project for enhancing preventive biological arms control. Mirko is funded by the German Foreign Office.
