Short Biography
Since 2012 Dr. Gunnar Jeremias is head of the Hamburg Research Group for Biological Arms Control. He graduated in political sciences at Philipps University Marburg, holds a post gradual MA in Peace and Security Studies and a PhD in political sciences from Hamburg University. He studies and teaches the issues of arms control, governance of risk related technologies (esp. biotech), open source information, and ethics and responsibility in science. Before he started working for the Research Group Gunnar conducted a number of research projects in the area of bioethics at the Research Centre for Biotechnology, Society and the Environment and worked as a researcher for Greenpeace, where he was involved in preparing campaigns against the use of nuclear energy.
